Horse Farms For Sale in South Carolina

img

Admittedly, the Palmetto state’s “street cred” in the equestrian community seems underwhelming on the surface. Yet just like a brushing a stallion brings out a beautiful shine, a closer inspection of the Palmetto state’s “horse power” shows it’s got a rather significant pedigree. Top jockeys, trainers and owners have originated from here. The Aiken area is known for its thoroughbred pastures. And South Carolina is one 10 states with an official horse, the Carolina Marsh Tacky.

The Lowcountry, too, has a long history with riding, breeding and racing. And while hardly center ring today, it remains on the periphery of the horse world.

In many cases, the horse farms aren’t that far from cities and suburbs.

South Carolina is located in southeast United States. Three geographic regions cover the state. The Atlantic Coastal Plain (or the South Carolina Low Country) extends west from the Atlantic Ocean. The Atlantic Coastal Plains are swampy, flat and marked by rivers near the coast. The Coastal Plains are forested and lined with sandy hills as you move inland. The higher elevations and rolling hills of the Piedmont are located northwest of the Atlantic Coastal Plain. The more low lying Blue Ridge Mountains cross northwest South Carolina with elevations reaching 3,000 ft.

South Carolina's economy is historically based on agriculture. Tobacco, poultry, cattle, dairy, soybeans and hogs are important agricultural products. Growth of the textile industry met an ill fate in the 1920s with the appearance of the boll weevil--sending many African Americans north in search of work. Textile and clothing industries are based in Piedmont and continue to be an important industry to the state, along with chemical products, paper products, machinery and tourism.

A striking, oversized entry door welcomes you, immediately commanding attention and setting the stage for the elegance that unfolds within. Through the foyer, the home reveals a luxurious open-concept layout where the living room becomes the heart of the home: soaring 18-foot ceilings and a floor-to-ceiling stone gas fireplace create a dramatic yet inviting centerpiece, perfect for entertaining or quiet evenings. Flowing seamlessly from the living room, the chef’s kitchen is a masterpiece of both style and function. Anchored by a grand island, it features a built-in gas stove with over-the-range microwave convection oven and a large copper farmhouse sink. Soft-close cabinetry, granite countertops, and a stylish tile backsplash complete the picture, while the thoughtful main-level layout accommodates a breakfast nook, formal dining room, dedicated office, walk-in laundry, full guest bathroom, and the primary suite with a luxurious ensuite. For added luxury, this home is equipped with a tankless hot water heater, providing endless hot water and energy-efficient performance throughout. The primary suite serves as a serene retreat, boasting a spacious walk-in closet and a spa-like ensuite with a double vanity sink, jacuzzi tub, tile flooring, and a separate walk-in tile shower, while soft carpeting in the suite and two additional upstairs bedrooms adds warmth and comfort, complemented by hardwood that flows seamlessly across the main floor, stairs, and upper hallway. Upstairs, a generous flex room, the 2nd and 3rd bedrooms each with walk-in closets, a full bathroom, and a walk-in attic create versatile spaces for family, guests, or storage, combining functionality with refined elegance. Above the garage, the 4th bedroom/flex room continues the home’s elegant, rustic charm with cedar LVP flooring and cedar tongue-and-groove ceiling paneling, including its own bath and space for a closet — ideal as a guest suite, media room, or additional bedroom. The lower-level 5th bedroom showcases rich cedar LVP flooring, a walk-in closet, and a bath prepped for a shower, toilet, and sink, with water, electric, and drains already installed. Both spaces were newly completed in September 2025. This home offers five garage spaces, including a 2-car garage on the main level and a 3-space tandem garage on the lower level. Dual driveways provide convenient access to both levels for guests, hobbies, or storage. Step outside to beautifully maintained yet low-maintenance grounds, with rubber mulch, river rock accents, a 7-zone irrigation system, a lush Zeon Zoysia lawn in the backyard, and Bermuda grass in the front yard. The spacious, wide front porch stretches along the front and sides of the home, perfect for greeting neighbors or soaking in tranquil views — a slice of country living within a welcoming neighborhood. The full-length back porch offers open-air and screened-in areas framed by aluminum screens for easy care. Step onto a concrete patio leading to a firepit surrounded by river rock, where deer may wander nearby, bringing a serene touch of nature to your evenings. A fully enclosed fenced area is ideal for pets or the addition of a pool for leisure and entertainment. A flowing creek winds along a cleared area to the right of the home, while wooded privacy lines the rear. Trails meander throughout the acreage, ideal for walking, golf carts, or 4-wheeling. Gentle topography allows for a future shop, barn, or pool, while a private golf tee box adds a unique recreational touch. The property offers a serene, natural setting with opportunities to enjoy the sights and sounds of the outdoors. Equestrian potential abounds with ample space for fencing and barns. Edens Ridge combines elegance with community, featuring low HOA dues and a covered picnic area with seating and a firepit for neighborly gatherings. Zoned for Six Mile Elementary, R.C. Edwards Middle, and Daniel High School, the estate offers access to exceptional education while providing easy proximity to Lake Keowee and Clemson University.
