Frequently Asked Questions

What is HorseProperties.net and who is the audience?

HorseProperties.net is the premier website for selling and buying equestrian properties in North America. Our audience includes all buyers looking for anything from a small horse farm for one pony to a large professional equine facility -- and everything in between. We attract buyers from all over the world, with the majority coming from the United States, Canada and Mexico.

I would like to purchase an ad. Are credit card payments on HorseProperties.net secure?

Yes. We use Stripe for all credit card processing and no credit card information is stored on HorseProperties.net. All transactions are encrypted and secure. Stripe is certified to PCI Service Provider Level 1, the most stringent level of certification. Click here for more information on Stripe security.

I am an agent. How do I get listed on the agent page?

If you have a property currently advertised with us and you are a licensed real estate agent, your agent information will automatically be included on our page for qualified agents at no extra charge.

How do I get my property advertised on the website?

It's very simple to get your listing on the website: Click on LOG IN at the top right corner of the home page, then click REGISTER and fill out the information. That will create a dashboard for you, and once you've paid for your ad, upload your property information and photos. You can then immediately publish your ad.

I created an ad but it wasn't saved. Why not?

Most likely it is because you are using an old browser version, and previous versions of Internet Explorer are particularly problematic. Please use a current version of Internet Explorer, Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge. You should have no problems on a MacOS, Windows, or Chromebook computer, or an IOS or Android mobile device, as long as you are using a recent browser version.

How many page hits does the website get per day?

We average over 1,500,000 page views per month. We are proud to announce that HorseProperties.net, relative to our top 5 competitors, receives 68% of the share of internet traffic searching for horse properties and equestrian estates in the U.S. But most important to you is the number of page views your ads receive. You will see your page view data, along with the number of times your ad has appeared in a search of HorseProperties listings, on your dashboard. These numbers are accurate and updated in real time.

Will my listing be included in a newsletter?

Yes, your listing will be included in our newsletter if you have posted an ad. There is no extra charge for this and our newsletter is emailed to over 200,000 horse lovers and equestrian agents across the U.S. This is another great way to widely advertise your listing!

How many photos can I upload?

You can upload up to 30 photos and add a link to a virtual tour. In order to upload multiple photos at one time, use SHIFT-CLICK to select a list of photos from your computer. You can change the photos and rearrange them at any time.

Can I add my virtual tour?

Absolutely. Simply include a link to your virtual tour and it will be included in your listing.

How much does it cost to list my property?

You choose how many months you would like to advertise your horse property with us. Here are the prices for a single ad space:

We have additional discounts for multiple ads ranging from 5% to 20% depending on how many listings you wish to post, and you can replace your listing with another property as soon as you have sold it. There is no automatic renewal, no contract, no sign-up or cancellation fee -- absolutely no hidden charges! (In order to receive the discount for multiple ads, you must purchase all of the ad spaces at the same time, but you can post your ads at any time after that your ad spaces -- and the ad's time period doesn't begin until you publish your ad.)

What do I get for my advertising?

You get a complete web page for your listing with up to 30 photos, a virtual tour link, and unlimited text at no extra charge. In addition, we send out weekly e-newsletters, which will include your listings, to more than 200,000 people in the equestrian and real estate community at no extra charge. High Google, Bing, and Yahoo rankings of our website ensure a constant flow of visitors who are looking to buy a property in this niche market. HorseProperties.net was launched in 2005 and we remain the premier horse property website in the world!

Can I make changes to my listing later on?

Yes, change it as often as you like -- and even change the property listed at no extra charge. You will have access to edit your listing 24/7 and any changes that you make will be published immediately.

I am not computer/internet savvy; can you help me upload the property?

Can I renew my listing before it expires?

Yes, you will receive an email notice when your listing is near expiration, and another one when it expires. You can simply click the link in the email to renew your listing.

Do you offer discounts for multiple listings?

Yes. We have discounts for multiple listings ranging from 5% to 20% depending on how many listings you wish to post. You will automatically receive this discount when you purchase multiple ad spaces.

Do you offer discounts for longer duration listings?

Yes. You will automatically receive a discount when you list your ad for 6 months or 12 months. See "How much does it cost to list my property?" above.

I would like to post ads for many horse properties. Can you offer an additional discount for purchasing bulk ad spaces?

You will automatically receive a 5% discount if you purchase 2 ad spaces, a 10% discount if you purchase 3 ad spaces, a 15% discount if you purchase 4 ad spaces, and a 20% discount if you purchase 5 ad spaces. What is considered an equestrian or horse property?

A horse or an equestrian property is any real estate property that is suitable and zoned for horses. Often, there are a number of deeded restrictions regarding specific uses of the property including deeded community horse trails, the number of horses allowed per lot, and restrictions on commercial use of the horses. All the properties on our wesbite are suitable and zoned for horses.

I am getting an error message when I go to buy an ad. Any suggestions?

All credit card payments for HorseProperties.net are processed securely through Stripe. Because of this, a script is run from Stripe that may be blocked by your browser. If you are running Noscript on your computer, you will need to set Noscript to allow Stripe scripts to be run on your computer.

What are the advantages of listing my property on HorseProperties.net compared to other sites?

Do you have any other websites that cater to niche real estate markets?

We do. If you are in the market for a water view or waterfront property, or if you have a water view property listing, check out USAWaterviews.com. It's our sister site and works very much like Horseproperties. It is the premier website in the US for water view and waterfront properties on lakes, rivers, oceans, bays, bayous, sounds, and even ponds, with thousands of listings, hundreds of agents, and growing every day!

I see that you often have listings from Canada, and other countries besides the US. Do you display currency in units other than US dollars?

Yes, we are an international website. But since most of our buyers are in the US, we display currency only in US dollars so that our buyers won't be confused with multiple currencies.

What means "Under Contract"?

Properties which have an accepted offer will be marked on our website "Under Contract". That includes "In Escrow" and "Pending". Most sellers are interested in a back up offer. So, if you see a property which is in contract, ask the agent or seller if they are interested in a back up offer.
