Our grandparents came to Oklahoma in a covered wagon in the early 1900’s and purchased a particularly scenic 160-acre tract of land that was a Creek Indian allotment. Two creeks ran across the property with magnificent old trees growing all along the creeks. Part of the acreage was rich “bottom land” that for decades was used for crops such as wheat, corn, and cotton. Then, for many years, the land was used for cattle grazing and alfalfa hay production. Sportsmen also loved to hunt for Quail, Turkeys and Deer along the tree-lined creeks and across the meadows. Decades ago, State Highway 72 was cut across the farm, creating several miles of frontage sites for possible development. We are wanting to sell the approximate 90 acres of land on the east side of Highway 72.
Spectacular sunrises and sunsets and brilliant starry night skies are part of our childhood memories of our farm. Our family has treasured this land for over 100 years but because we grandchildren are getting older, we have made the heart-wrenching decision to sell this beautiful and iconic tract of land.
This unique property is located about 5 miles south of Coweta on Highway 72, just north of the Wagoner County Section line, and is in the Coweta School District. It is just about a 30-minute drive from the Tulsa metroplex. Currently, a brand-new stretch of Highway 72 is being constructed from the edge of our property all the way across the Arkansas River Bridge going toward Coweta. It will be completed within the year. This will make accessibility to the Tulsa area even more safe and expeditious.
A few years ago, a multi-million-dollar, state-of-the-art racehorse boarding, and training facility was constructed, just west down the section line, from our property. Our tract would be the perfect site for another horse boarding/training facility. While the interest in this tract has been tremendous, we prefer to sell the entire tract to someone who is financially pre-qualified.
