FIORE FARMS is a gated Horse Complex, ADA compliant, 92 Acres, extra 25 acres of wooded lots available (adjacent)
32.5 acres officially designated as Commercial Equestrian Facility (all fenced with 4 strands of 5" polyvinyl belts, 2 of them hot) - the remaining acreage is of beautiful wooded land for trails - we have 1.5+ miles of trails, under a canopy of trees, within the property.
Fiore Farms has a conceptually different type of design for an Equestrian Facility. The project has been developed respecting the guidelines recommended by the Guilford County North Carolina Agricultural Cooperative Extension in conjunction with the NC State University guidelines.
This is the optimal model our society can offer to horses. They may be confined, but they're not constrained. The dry-lot/pasture rotation system allows freedom of movement which the horses do not have when they are relegated to stalls.
The complex was laid out according to the topography of the farm and designed by an Italian architect, Fiorella Maria Salerno. She also designed all of the buildings/outbuildings. A horse-person herself, she has studied the needs of horses and riders in order to design an organic layout - within all codes and restrictions required by the Town, the County and State.
We have a (250x150)' lighted arena, covered bleachers, a 60' covered & lighted round pen, 10 run in sheds - five of them have a large loft for hay storage.
We have 10 run-in sheds, two barns (one new, one older/refurbished), two large tractor/storage sheds. Adjacent to each dry lot there are pastures for rotation. All pastures/turn outs have trees for shade. Great hay fields. We have three corridors (8'.5") that separate pastures. This allows for horse placement in proximity to each other, avoiding the usual-possible fence fighting. There are 4.5 acres of pasture, formerly a vineyard, all enclosed (also with deer fencing) with a trailer hook up area (electricity/septic).
FF has two wells serving the needs of the Facility and a "Bottoms" area of 2-3 acres - forage flat area that is always green, even during the worst drought. A spring fed creek is adjacent to this area. In rotation the horses can be taken there for fresh forage, instead of having to live solely on hay.
About 60 acres of woods have a maintained trail for pleasure.
FF was designed with horse happiness in mind.
When horses are happy, they are well balanced. Riders are safer.
**** FF has a total of 16 stalls, and 3 more can be added by partitioning a porch.
In the new complex - Fiore Farms Horse Court (FFHC)- we have great stalls (5 total - 4 12x12 and 1 12x15) with the possibility to add 3 more stalls if necessary - all with a superior drainage system under the perforated rubber mats and they are equipped with automatic Nelson waterers with winter heaters. FFHC also has individual stall ceiling fans for summer heat and roof insulation. There is a H/C water wash stall, a tack-room with 20 individual lockers equipped with two saddle racks and bridal holders. There is a lounge with a children's table and chairs, microwave oven, sm. refrigerator. At FFHC there is a feed-room, hay-room, storage room and 3 bathrooms: two of them handicap accessible (as well as the rest of the facility in compliance with ADA). We have been praised for how spacious and airy our stalls are (so as to prevent respiratory problems in horses).
FIORE FARMS is also ideal for an Agri-Eco-Tourism investment, or for an Equestrian Development.
The Equestrian Facility is completed. There is plenty of land to build a main INN Manor and chalets/cabins nested in the woods, with low ecological impact. The town of Summerfield encourages developments that preserve soil/air/water from pollution, respecting the natural resources of a land.
