Fiore Farms has a conceptually different type of design for an Equestrian Facility. The project has been developed respecting the guidelines recommended by the Guilford co. North Carolina Agricultural Cooperative Extension in conjunction with the NC State University guidelines. This is the optimal model our society can offer to the horses. They may be confined, but they're not constrained. The system dry-lots/ pasture rotation allows in any given moment freedom of movement which the horses do not have when they are relegated into stalls. By consequence the horses are happier and relaxed... The complexity of the design was laid out according the topography of the farm, by an Italian architect, Fiorella Maria Salerno. She also designed all of the buildings/outbuildings. A horse-person herself for many years, she has been studying the needs of horses and riders and designed an organic lay out, within all codes and restrictions required by the Town, the County and State. We have a (250x150)' lighted arena, a 60' lighted round pen, 10 Run Inn sheds: five of them have a large loft for upper storage. * Concorde 1 (hosting up to 3 horses) and 2 (hosting up to 4 horses) they are connected and they can hold up to 600 bales, which it will feed the horses through an entire winter. ** Concorde 3 (hosting up to 3-4 horses) can hold up to 250 bales. *** Honeymooners has a low ceiling loft that can hold shavings bags. This is, if the management wants to reserve a run in shed with shavings for the horses (princes and princesses) whose owners want to provide this special deal for them. We have 10 run-in sheds, two barns (one new - FFHC-, one older, refurbished), two large tractors/storage (old sheds). Adjacent each dry lot there are pastures for rotation. All pastures/turn outs have trees for shade. We have three corridors (8'.5") that separate pastures. This allows placing new horses in proximity to each other, avoiding the usual-possible fence fighting. There is a 4.5 acres of pasture, formerly a vineyard, all enclosed (also with deer fencing) with a trailer hook up area (electricity/septic). FF has two wells serving the needs of the Facility and a "Bottoms" area of of 2 3 acres of forage flat area that is always green, even during the worst drought. A spring fed creek is adjacent to this area. In rotation the horses can be taken there for fresh forage, instead having to live solely on hay. About 60 acres of woods have a maintained trail that allows cooling off the horses after work or just having a beautiful relaxing trail ride. FF is for the happiness of horses. When horses are happy, they are well balanced. Riders are safer. **** FF has available, total, 16 stalls: We do recognize that needs exist for choosing to have a horse in a stall and our care of the stalled horse is unmatched. In the new complex - Fiore Farms Horse Court (FFHC)- we have great stalls (five total -four 12x12 and one 12x15) with the possibility to add three more stalls if necessary, with a superior drainage system under the perforated rubber mats and they are equipped with automatic Nelson waterers with winter heaters. FFHC also has individual stall ceiling fans for summer heat and roof insulation. There is a H/C water wash stall, a tack-room with 20 individual lockers equipped with two saddle rack and bridal holders. There is a lounge with children sm. table/chairs, microwave Owen, sm. refrigerator. At FFHC there is a feed-room, hay-room, storage room and there are three bathrooms: two of them Handicap Accessible, as well as the rest of the Facility in compliance with ADA. We have been praised for how spacious and airy our stalls are (so as to prevent respiratory problems in horses). On the old barn, renovated, there are 11 stalls, w/rubber mats. The well vented stalls are laid out in the more traditional way, with a center aisle. There is a laundry washer available in the community tackroom, and a water heater that serves the sinks and wash-stall. ***** FF has a 150'x250' arena and a sitting deck for viewing the activities (for ab/ 30-40 people). There is a judge stand. ****** Covered 60' Round Pen and Outdoor (250'x150') Arena are usable with lights. Handicap ramp at Round Pen has a motion detector light. Lights at porch/bathroom areas, at FFHC outside the main arena, work on motion detectors as well. ******* FF has a variety of PVC jumps as well as a (20x60) meters dressage arena PVC poles. ********* Just outside the arena, there is a warm up/practice barrel for exercising. ********** The part of the property, officially designated as Equestrian Facility, (32.5 acres) is all fenced and there is an automatic gate for entry. All allowed boarders/riders/vets/farriers etc. have their own personal access codes.
